A little history...
Sweet Bay Farm and Gardens began in South Euclid, Ohio in 1984 to raise, propagate, and cultivate plants for ornamental displays and cutting with emphasis on native plants. Karen Colini ‘s background in Horticulture and mine in Landscape Architecture provided a perfect combination of planning, layout, and display of Horticulture specimens. The farm moved to Auburn township in 1988 and grew up along with our family of 4 daughters and now 15 grandchildren. Our dream was to develop the property into a small arboretum, along with growing and selling native and non-invasive exotic plants and flowers. We provided landscape services for design, planning, and installation of various home, commercial, and institutional landscapes and gardens. Karen’s interest, love, and phenomenal expertise in floral design helped shape and mold the farm into a place to grow, cut, and arrange flowers grown on the property. With the wonderful help of our daughters the realization of expanding the property to create an Agritourism
business where all could come and enjoy the beauty and experience the farm that we loved and enjoyed for 37 plus years. Unfortunately, Karen’s time was cut short by a terminal illness, but her dream lives on as we invite you to experience the farm. Karen’s love of raising dogs and ducks has been added to with the grandchildren’s love of raising animals through the 4-H programs with lambs and turkeys also being present on the farm. Sweet Bay Farm and Gardens is a growing experience, so come visit and see what may be the next addition on the farm.
